Ach ja, als 22-Jähriger Typ der mehr als sein halbes Leben schon zockt ist das Ganze für mich Alltag, jedes Spiel ist eine minimale Umstellung, egal ob Shooter, RPG, MOBA etc. alles habe ich schon einmal gespielt.
Jetzt habe ich vor ein paar Jahren meinen alten Rechner an meine Schwester weitergegeben da sie keinen mehr besaß und ich nicht wollte, dass sie an meinen Rechner geht für irgendwelche online Dinge die mir meine Werbung mit Mist zu packt den ich niemals kaufen würde. Besagter Rechner hat eine dedizierte Grafikkarte verbaut und ermöglichte ihr erstmals Spiele zu spielen. Und genau hier fing alles an. Denn sie fing an League of Legends zu spielen (Anm. des Autors: Der Horror) und textete mich damit zu ohne Ende, Gott sie dank fand sie über einige Umwege dann zu den MMORPGs genauer gesagt SWTOR. Ab hier ging es erst richtig los: Sprachnachrichten, Telefonate ohne Ende, ellenlange Nachrichten etc.
Erst war ich davon ziemlich genervt, da sie mir von Dingen erzählte die für mich, als SWTOR Spieler der ersten Stunde kannte ich all dies ja schon längst. Erst später ist mir aufgefallen wie selbstverständlich diese Dinge für mich sind. Sei es die Umstellung auf eine andere Steuerung, seien es die kleinen Dinge wie ein Glitch oder ein lustiger Bug.
Genau an diesem Punkt wurde ich neidisch auf meine Schwester, auch ein bisschen auf meinen Co-Autoren Tim, denn für die beiden sind viele Dinge, Genres etc. eine völlig neue Erfahrung für mich? Alltag. An diesem Punkt habe ich festgestellt, es fehlt mir an der Faszination des neuen und ich bin all dies schon längst gewöhnt.
Mein damaliges Gamer Ich
Damals, bis vor 5-6 Jahren, war ich ein eher einfacher und ein armer Gamer, ich hatte einen Rechner aus älteren Bauteilen, sowie einer Grafikkarte die für das Abspielen von Blu-Rays gedacht war, trotz allem war ich zufrieden. Ich konnte problemlos meine alten Titel aus der Mitte der 2000er super spielen und auch Borderlands. Selbst das damals frisch erschiene Battlefield 3 (ja ich kam über „Umwege“ an eine Originalkopie) lief mit 24fps im Multiplayer. Zwar mehr schlecht als Recht, aber es lief stabil.
Und jetzt?
Jetzt bin ich ein sehr verwöhnter Gamer, ich habe einen durchaus performanten Rechner und auf meinem 2. Schreibtisch steht neben einer PS4 seit kurzem auch eine Xbox One. Heute sehe ich Spiele anders als noch vor 5 Jahren, vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich seit den letzten 5 Jahren nicht nur ein größeres Verständnis für die Entwicklung von Software bekommen habe. Sondern sicher auch daran, dass ich in diesen Jahren mich auch mit den Spielen aus einer eher redaktionellen und einer wirtschaftlichen Sichtweise.
Spiele sind für mich zum Alltag geworden. Sie sind für mich alles andere als faszinierend, da sie nicht irgendwie funktionieren. Ich weiß, zumindest teilweise, wie Spiele funktionieren, mit ihren Wirtschaftsmechaniken, Skripten etc.
Trotzdem ist nicht alles schlecht, ich habe noch immer viel Spaß, ich rege mich noch immer über schlecht gemachte Gegner auf, lache über einen lustigen Moment, fühle mich heroisch wenn ich die Welt im Spiel ein wenig sicherer gemacht habe. Ich fiebere immer noch jedem guten Release entgegen.
Okay und wie sieht es für die Zukunft?
Doch all das ohne die Faszination die mich noch vor ein paar Jahren gepackt hat, ich weiß nicht ob ich jemals wieder diese Faszination für ein neues und mir unbekanntes Spiel verspüren werde, dennoch bin ich nur ein wenig traurig, denn mit dem Verlust der generellen Faszination, bekam ich interessante Einblicke in Spiele an sich. Daher guck ich ein wenig traurig zurück, freue mich umso mehr zu sehen was dieses Medium in den nächsten Jahren noch abliefern wird.
